テキサスはヒューストンにて、自身のレーベルLightin' Recordsを中心に旺盛に活動したドラマー、ババ・トーマス率いるグループの72年の傑作アルバム。なんでもこの人は、ブッカーT.ワシントン高校在学時にカジメア・ステージ・バンドで有名なコンラッド・ジョンソンに教えを受けた人だそうです。Stones Throwの名コンピ「Funky 16 Corners」に収録されていた"The Phantom"はこのアルバムからのカット。その他の曲もテキサス流のディープなジャズ・ファンク・サウンドで最高に素晴らしいです！
